BMW X3 details:
The 2012 BMW X3 is a fine (if pricey) choice for drivers seeking sport sedan dynamics in a crossover SUV. BMW X3 SUV offers the following pros: Potent turbocharged engine; luxury cabin; crisp handling; convenient back bench. BMW X3 SUV drawbacks are: Abrupt performance delivery; priced higher than many rivals.

The 2012 BMW X3 is a five-passenger compact luxury crossover SUV available in two versions that correspond to the engine: the Xdrive28i and the Xdrive35i.

Traditional features on the 28i include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, foglights, automatic wipers, eight-way performance front seatings, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped helm, leatherette luxury vinyl upholstery, automatic conditioning, cruise control, Bluetooth, BMW's Idrive controls interface and a 12-speaker audio system with a CD player, HD radio, an optional stereo slot and a Usb/ipod interface.

The 35i is alike but has 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, a panoramic sunroof and wood dashboard accents.

Features are largely grouped into packages, but several of the items are available separately. The Sport Activity suite contains original look trim, 18-inch (28i) or 19-inch (35i) wheels, roof rails, sport front seatings, a sport helm and a sport mode-equipped transmission with paddle shifters (35i). The M Sport suite is alike but has various wheel styles, blacked-out look trim and chrome exhaust outlets.

The Luxury suite for the 28i contains power-folding/auto-dimming mirrors, the panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, front bench performance lumbar support, add-on lighting and more cargo features (including nets and tie-down hooks). The Luxury suite for the 35i adds keyless ignition/entry, a performance tailgate and back window sunshades.

The Technology suite provides a rearview camera with top view, front and back parking sensors, Bluetooth streaming stereo, a navigation system (with voice commands and real-time traffic) and BMW Assist emergency communications (with collision notification and improved roadside assistance).

The Dynamic Handling suite contains adaptive suspension dampers, variable-ratio steering and three driver-selectable drive modes. The Comfort suite contains the adaptive xenon headlights, keyless ignition/entry, a performance tailgate and back window sunshades. The Cold Weather suite adds heated front seatings and helm along with a 40/20/40-split back bench. The Cold Weather suite II contains heated back seatings and headlight washers. There is also a Luxury audio suite that features 16 speakers and digital audio processing. .
