Although still an impressive, feature-laden minivan, the 2012 Kia Sedona lags behind revamped competitors and begs for the update treatment recently given to other Kia models. Kia Sedona Minivan offers the following pros: Impressive warranty; convenient ride; quiet cabin; great value. Kia Sedona Minivan drawbacks are: Some subpar dashboard materials and controls; restrictive and tiered features packages.

The 2012 Kia Sedona is provided in LX and EX versions.

Traditional LX features include 16-inch wheels, roof rails, keyless entry, full performance accessories, back parking sensors, front and rear-air conditioning, a fold-down table between the front seatings and removable second-row captain's chairs. Also traditional are 60/40-split fold-flat third-row seat seatings, cloth upholstery, a tilt helm with stereo controls, cruise control, Bluetooth and a six-speaker CD/MP3 audio with radio and a Usb/auxiliary input slot. A back bench DVD entertainment system is also available.

Upgrading to the EX trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, heated outside mirrors, a performance tailgate, performance back quarter windows, power-adjustable front seatings, a leather-wrapped helm, a trip computer and wood dashboard trim. The EX also contains dual power-sliding doors, chrome look trim, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a rearview camera. These features, along with 16-inch alloy wheels, are also available to LX consumers via the Performance suite.

Add-on features on EX models are bundled into packages. The Luxury suite adds a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seatings, power-adjustable pedals, driver-seat memory and tri-zone automatic climate control. Upgrading to either the Luxury Entertainment suite or Navigation suite (you can't get both) requires the Luxury suite first. The former suite contains a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and a 10-speaker Infinity stereo system with an in-dash six-disc changer, while the Navigation suite adds a navigator and eight-speaker Infinity stereo. .
