Porsche 911 Speedster details:
Very low-slung, very sporty and very rare: Porsche is to release a small series of the new Porsche 911 Speedster. Paying homage to the first Porsche model to bear the name Speedster - the 356 Speedster from 1954 - the new model will be limited to just 356 cars. The twoseater differs significantly from the other members of the 911 family. In best tradition, the 60 millimetre shorter windscreen, the flat contour of the sporty-looking manual convertible top and the characteristic double bubble on the convertible top compartment lid define the striking profile of the new Porsche 911 Speedster. Thereby making this rear-wheel drive vehicle's body, which is 44 millimetres wider at the back, stand out even more impressively. The new Porsche 911 Speedster features the classic features of this type of Porsche sports vehicle with the further enhanced performance of the current 911 generation.

From the front, the Speedster is recognisable by its special front apron, darkened front lamps and black headlight surrounds. Specific side skirts and the autonomous back apron with black Speedster lettering round off its individual exterior. The new model reveals its ideal Speedster lines with the top open or closed. The Porsche developers have designed an exclusively manually operated convertible top to achieve this.

The new Porsche 911 Speedster also underscores its sporty standards with extensive weight savings. Aluminium doors, the omission of the back bench system and the traditional ceramic brake system (PCCB) significantly reduce weight. The new convertible top compartment lid consists of aluminium and is therefore barely any heavier than its significantly smaller relative in the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Despite extensive, add-on equipment, this has enabled the Porsche 911 Speedster to precisely match the weight of the open-topped Carrera S, 1540, kilograms. In mix with the increased motor performance, this results in a power-to-weight ratio of 3. 8 kg/hp.
