The high-performance Maybach Exelero show vehicle was represented to the world for the first time in the Tempodrom in Berlin. The 700-hp two-seater with a V-12 biturbo motor is a original custom model manufactured for Fulda Reifenwerke, which is using the Maybach Exelero as a reference car for a newly designed generation of wide tyres. The German maker of luxury vehicles built the original model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined sports vehicle from the 1930s, thereby forging a link with the historical predecessor, which at that time was likewise based on a comprehensive Maybach automobile (SW 38) and used by Fulda for tyre tests.

The Maybach Exelero embodies the highest expression to date of the Maybach individualisation strategy of product specific custom solutions on request. In initial tests on the high-speed track in Nardo (italy), the original car reached a top speed of 351. 45 km/h (fia-standard unit of measurement). Engineers at Maybach developed the custom model with the participation of students from Pforzheim College. The Maybach Exelero was built by the prototype specialists at Stola in Turin (italy). There are no plans to produce the model in series.

In the middle of the 1990s, Fulda Reifen had already had a show truck developed by the students of Pforzheim Polytechnic's Department of Transport Layout under the direction of Professor James Kelly. Since the year 2000, to mark the 100th anniversary of Fulda, this uniue car with its fantastic aura, the trailer of which can be divided lengthwise in the middle and extended, has been on the road for use at many events. Not only Fulda, also its cooperation partners Maybach and the layout department of Daimlerchrysler have had very good experience with Pforzheim Polytechnic and were happy to agree. On the part of the Polytechnic, Professor Kelly and Professor Lutz F├╝gener assumed responsibility for the project and selected four students from the 6th semester who should produce designs under identical conditions.
The Bugatti Veryron is, by every measure, the world's fastest production road car. It's the quickest to 60, it has the highest top speed, and it can absolutely dominate a track.

With a claimed 1001 horsepower, the Veyron is a major technical achievement. Its engine has 16 cylinders, essentially formed by joining two V8 engines at the crank.

This W16 powerplant displaces 8.0 liters and features ten radiators for everything from the engine cooling systems to the air conditioner.

The $1.3 million Veyron will reach a top speed of 253 mph - a speed it can maintain for 12 minutes before all the fuel is gone. Power is transmitted to the pavement via four-wheel-drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
