The Citroen Xsara Picasso was Citroen's answer to the enormously well-known compact MPV Renault Scénic when it went on sale late in 1999. The back seatings could be removed to create extensive stowage room. It soon became the bestselling multi-purpose car in France, Great Britain, and most of the rest of Europe.
Building on 90 years of innovation, the Citroen make has extended its offering provide and designed a new line to stand alongside its main range: the DS line. Today comprising the Citroen DS3 and DS4, the DS line targets buyers looking for radical and assertive vehicles and seeking a resolutely modern approach to luxury offers.
The Citroen C6 is one of the most original looking executive saloons on sale today. It blends genuine Gallic style, with a form that features a modernist exterior with a retro feel. The Citroen C6's look turns each short journey into an occasion; partly due to the car's rarity. The front wears Citroen's trademark double chevron grille and has a pair of small headlamps either side.
Whereas Citroens used to be developed with real flair, the new Citroen C5 Tourer estate doesn't really stand out from key competitors like the Ford Mondeo or the Peugeot 407 SW. However, this is still a handsome vehicle, with its sharply-styled nose that incorporates Citroen's trademark double-chevron grille.
In the flesh, the Citroen C4 has a distinctive layout, with some appealing features to raise its kerb appeal. The front and back lights are well developed, as are the alloy wheels. In keeping with Citroen's other new models, its Chevron front and back badges are also bigger and more attractively developed. The Citroen C4 will only be made available in a 5-door body style.
Citroen has built a reputation around its uniqueness, and the Citroen C3 Picasso is certainly an orignial Mini-mpv. But it's not alone in its striking style; the Kia Soul and Skoda Roomster are both interesting lookers too, making it likely every will appeal to buyers with specific tastes.
The Citroen C3 displays little of the layout flair for which Citroen was once so famous, but it’s a neat-looking vehicle with its raised roof line and wheel-at-each-corner stance. There is one stand-out option though, and that's the panoramic windscreen which extends well into the roof it ends towards the rear of the front seatings.
Citroen is giving new emphasis and muscle to the thoroughbred lines of the Citroen C2, which has sold in more than 480000, units across Europe since its release in 2003. The front end gains several changes, developed to highlight the dynamic and elegant look lines that have contributed to the Citroen C2's success.
Considering its van-based roots, the Citroen Berlingo Multispace isn't an ugly vehicle and shares underpinnings with the C4 Picasso. A sister vehicle, to the Peugeot Partner, the Berlingo has a bold front end, with big headlights and a chic Citroen double chevrons badge.
The Citroen C-crosser is one of three models based on the Mitsubishi Outlander which also contains the Peugeot 4007. The stylish Citroen C-crosser has the edge for looks with the Citroen badge running the width of the bonnet and flowing out via the headlights atop a big honeycomb-style grille.
Zero fuel consumption, zero CO2 emissions and zero noise: with the Citroen C-zero, Citroen is broadening its compact car range with a 100% electric solution. The new city vehicle was developed to make urban mobility easier, with its compact dimensions, rapid charge, and sufficient range for day-to-day vehicle journeys.
The Citroen C1 isn't as appealing as its cousin, the Toyota Aygo, but it’s better than the Peugeot 107 and gets full marks for sheer cheekiness. The bulbous front allowed us to sneak into tiny gaps in traffic out of bounds to more masculine vehicles. The Citroen C1's back gives away its budget credentials more, with a low-cost one-piece glass tailgate dominating the proceedings.
Citroen expects big things of the DS3. It will go into battle with the likes of the Mini Cooper and Fiat 500, but unlike those models, Citroen refuses to go down the retro route of building a pastiche of an iconic model. Instead it has created a fashionable hatchback which looks thoroughly modern, and all the better for it.
Citroen has launched first details for the new Citroen DS4, a original and appealing blend of creativity, dynamism, exclusivity and versatility. Citroen DS4 is the second model in Citroen's distinctively-styled DS line. Citroen DS4 brings an appealing mixture of luxury layout codes and a bold approach to auto look-and-feel, with an emphasis on driving pleasure and advanced car architecture.
