The 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit is a compact hatchback available with two or four doors, every with a single trim level (known as S). The two-door Volkswagen Rabbit S comes traditional with 15-inch metal wheels, air-conditioning, full performance accessories, cruise control, cloth upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver bench, a 60/40-split-folding back bench, a tilt/telescoping helm and a 10-speaker audio with CD player and optional stereo slot. The 4-door Volkswagen Rabbit S adds updated look trim, heated windshield washer nozzles, front and back center armrests, velour upholstery, an eight-way manually adjustable driver bench with performance recline and adjustable lumbar, heated front seatings, back air vents and an updated audio system with in-dash Six-cd changer and radio.

The heated seatings and windshield washer nozzles are auxillary on the two-door. All Volkswagen Rabbits can be optioned with 16-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof and an Ipod adapter.
It may cost more than comparatively equipped competitors, but the 2012 Volkswagen Golf sweats the details and offers a level of refinement that few can possibly match. Volkswagen Golf Diesel offers the following pros: Impressive cab materials and construction; economical diesel engine; roomy hatchback body style; refined driving dynamics. Volkswagen Golf Diesel drawbacks are: Unrefined and inefficient gasoline engine; higher price tag than many competitors.

The Comfort suite adds heated front seatings, a front center armrest and Bluetooth. The Comfort & Sunroof suite adds those aforementioned items plus a sunroof, a Six-cd changer, radio, an Ipod/usb stereo interface and a touchscreen stereo interface.

The Volkswagen Golf TDI contains all of the above equipment as traditional, minus the sunroof. Also included are 17-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a lower ride height, heated windshield washer nozzles, floor mats and a multifunction leather-wrapped helm. The Sunroof & Navigation suite adds the sunroof and a navigator, but subtracts the compass and optional stereo slot.
