Maybach 57 details:
Stately in size, decadent in its luxuries and rapid in its pace, the 2011 Maybach 57 could be the most exquisite vehicle that money (a lot of it) can buy. Even so, it lacks the overwhelming character and panache of its only rival, the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Maybach 57 Sedan offers the following pros: Indulgent in its premium indulgence; constructed like a leather-lined bank vault; custom-tailored exclusivity; convenient ride; supremely refined engines. Maybach 57 Sedan drawbacks are: Unwieldy in traffic; Mercedes heritage is apparent; offensively expensive options; not a Rolls-Royce.

The 2011 Maybach 57 is an ultraluxury sedan provided in two versions: the Maybach 57 and the more comprehensive Maybach 57 S. There are also a long-wheelbase version known as the Maybach 62 and a quasi-convertible known as the Landaulet discussed in separate reviews.

Either Maybach 57 model can be customized with nearly any features the purchaser can dream up, but nevertheless, traditional kit contains 19-inch wheels, an active self-leveling suspension, adaptive cruise control, a front-cabin sunroof, performance back sunshades, 10-way performance front seatings with heating, massaging and memory options, a performance tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a full leather dashboard, reclining and heated back captain's chairs, four-zone conditioning and a back beverage cooler. Tech features include front and back Bluetooth controls, a navigator, rearview camera, a DVD entertainment system and a 21-speaker Bose surround-sound system with an in-dash Single-cd player, a console-mounted Six-cd changer, radio and an optional stereo slot.

The Maybach 57 S adds a more comprehensive motor, 20-inch wheels, higher-performance tires, a slightly lower ride height, sportier suspension and minor look differences.

Regular auxillary extras revolve mostly around the back passengers and include add-on rear-seat entertainment features, a three-person backseat, ventilated front or back seatings, folding back picnic tables and back curtains.
