Mini Clubman details:
The 2012 Mini Cooper Mini Clubman adds room and practicality to the traditional Mini Cooper's fun and charm. Mini Cooper Mini Clubman Hatchback offers the following pros: Modern BMW engineering wrapped in iconic British style; immensely fun to drive; roomier than the regular Cooper; impressive fuel efficiency; highly customizable. Mini Cooper Mini Clubman Hatchback drawbacks are: Suspension may be too stiff for some; noisy on the highway; form-over-function dashboard controls; weak base stereo; potentially high price tag.
The 2012 Mini Cooper Mini Clubman is a four-passenger, two-door hatchback with a reverse-opening back "club" door on the passenger side. In rear, a pair of barn-style doors swing outward, replacing the liftgate of the traditional Mini hatchback. The Mini Clubman is available in three versions: Cooper, sportier Cooper S and high-performance John Cooper Operates.
The base Cooper comes traditional with 15-inch alloy wheels, full performance accessories, air-conditioning, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, keyless entry, multicolor ambient lighting, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped multifunction helm, a trip computer and a six-speaker audio with a CD player, HD and radio and an optional stereo slot.
The Cooper S adds a more comprehensive turbocharged motor, 16-inch wheels, run-flat tires, foglights, dual exhausts, firmer suspension tuning, sport seatings and alloy pedals. Stepping up to the John Cooper Operates gets you even more performance, 17-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and cloth upholstery. A limited-slip differential and a firmer suspension can be fitted to both the S and John Cooper Operates.
Clubman features are plentiful and arranged in several packages, and most are available à la carte. Highlight features include adaptive xenon headlamps, a dual-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, heated front seatings, keyless ignition/entry, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo system, Bluetooth and an Ipod interface. Other features include about a dozen various wheel choices, back parking sensors, cloth or leather upholstery, a navigator, and multiple combinations of dashboard trim and materials. A multitude of dealer-installed features are also available. .
